About LAMA
Welcome! Los Angeles Mortgage Association, LAMA, is dedicated to bringing together commercial mortgage bankers, brokers and lenders in Southern California to network, learn, build relationships and do business together.
OUR HISTORY
At the turn of the millennium, David Rosenthal of Curtis-Rosenthal, Inc, Steven Hinds of George Elkins Mortgage Banking and Michael Sanchez of Capital Stack saw a void in the Southern California marketplace for commercial mortgage bankers, brokers and lenders to get together throughout the year to network and learn together.
In January 2000 they launched Los Angeles Mortgage Association, or LAMA, with the first annual Economic Update featuring Jack Kyser of the LA Economic Development Corporation. Meetings were initially held at Toppers in Santa Monica, and have since migrated around town to The Palm downtown, the Luxe in Brentwood, Napa Valley Grille in Westwood and other venues on the Westside and in Orange County.
Speaker panels regularly feature lenders in various sectors of the capital stack including banks, private debt funds, life insurance companies, agencies, CMBS, private equity and niche lenders. Social events have ranged from private suites at Dodger Stadium and Staples Center, to the House of Blues, Santa Monica Pier and Rosenthal the Malibu Winery.
LAMA is tenaciously committed to remaining fresh and open to new ideas. We welcome constructive input and creative approaches to bringing our community together in a warm, open and fun environment. As we enter our second 25 years, we look forward to continuing to serve the Southern California community of commercial mortgage bankers, brokers and lenders.
